Busted In Jericho

I had been searching for the lost town of Jericho, Texas.  A place that used to be called the “Jericho Gap” on old Route 66. Long gone now, the town is but mere remnants of time.

In its hay day, this town became infamous for roadside repairs due to rumors that nearby farmers were purposely flooding their fields in order to flood the road and strand motorists that drove through town.

The stranded motorists would benefit the town until the road was bypassed by the new Interstate and the small town withered away to only what you see pictured here.
